4 Days in SG - Accomodation/Transporation

A 3-bed dorm room @ Costa Sand Resort (Downtown East) occupied by me only for the 3 nights of stay :)

This "downtown" resort is indeed rather remote from major tourists' spots, which is in the eastern side of SG, near the airport. It's located in a quiet neighbourhood, the Pasir Ris, which is a terminus of an MRT line.

As I bought a stored-value card, MRT was the major means of transportation. But since it was quite a loooong ride from the city center (around 45mins?), one night we actually took a taxi back from the Old Bazaar after our late dinner :P
I like the ample space for standing!
They got double-decker too :)
I like the fact that their road signs come with symbols :)

4 Days in SG - Eat Eat Eat (main dish)

1. 黃亞細肉骨茶 Ng Ah Sio Bakuteh
- The soup was so peppery! Reminds me of 鄭太's 胡椒豬肚湯
- Drank two bowls in a row, and then my nose bled a little bit (!)
- The marinated bean curd puff was ok

2. Tian Tian Hainan Chicken Rice 天天海南雞飯
@ Maxwell Food Center
- Next time let's go there to try out more shops?

3. 黑胡椒蟹 @ Jumbo Seafood Restaurant, Clark Quay
- juicy and giant piece of crab meat, 啖啖肉 :)
- a bit pricy, but worths a try!
- the "Fried Noodle in Indonesian Sauce" was great too (though a bit oily)

4. Laksa & Nyonya Noodle
@ Old Days Kopitiam ("Coffee Shop")
- this joint is located in the shopping mall of the resort I stayed in. I think they also got branches in different malls;

- Every morning I could use the "SG$ 3 breakfast coupon" to have a meal there
- The nyonya noodle was sour & spicy, quite strong-flavoured; like the Laksa more :P
- Yummy laksa for around $3 or $4 :)

4 Days in SG - Eat Eat Eat (dessert & drink)

1. Kopi (Coffee with Sweet Condensed Milk) [SG$1/$1.5]
- Just learnt from the internet that there's also Kopi-O (black coffee), Kopi-C (coffee with white sugar and evaporated milk), Kopi-C Kosong (coffee with evaporated milk but no sugar) & Kopi Peng (iced coffee with sweet condensed milk)
- It's a good morning drink for leisure days :)

2. Teh Tarik 拉茶 (SG$1.2)
- It's black tea with condensed milk and prepared by "pulling" (pouring) between two vessels from a height
- it's not as thick as the Hong Kong milk tea, but the balanced sweetness and bitterness makes it a good drink for lunch or dinner time :)
- This store at Old Bazaar always got a queue when other drink stalls were rather quiet;
- also tried the "Teh Cino", just to find out it's an idea originating from "Cappuccino"...There's a layer of sweet milk foam prepared using a pump or something placed on top of a cup of "Teh Tarik". So it didn't really worth the SG$0.8 to have the sweet and airy milk foam :P

3. Ice cream sandwich @ Street stalls (SG$1)
- The wafer goes well with coffee ice-cream :)
- hoho it actually tastes just like Apollo's "Monaka", but you could choose from a wide variety of flavours of Wall's ice-cream, and making the sandwich with wafers or white bread

4. Max Brenner Chocolate Bar
- Many chocolate drinks & desserts

- The waffle was good, but a bit expensive (>HK$100)
- A choco drink my groupmate ordered; didn't try :P
- it's good that they provide free iced water :)

4 Days in SG - Ann Siang Road

A number of bars & cafes, shops selling clothes, books, accessories......

Maybe I went there too early, or maybe it was a long weekend with the new year holidays, most of the shops were closed...

This one was open though :) Another shop that I could go in was Fred Perry, but things were really much more expensive than in HK......
From this angle it looks a bit like Macau?

4. Red Dot Traffic Museum

Too hungry to go in this museum :P
Headed straight to Maxwell food center instead
